Together with extra material after ending A and B makes the story more interesting following as more information is uncovered for the player.The characters are fun and interesting part of the game. The story does however fall somewhat as the plot twist is what makes the story deeper than the average Hero story. However, it is not necessary to play Drakengard to enjoy Nier. The story builds from Drakengard ending E where Angelus and Caim enters a world similar to ours. The game was directed by Yoko Taro who directed Drakengard 1 and 3 and supervised Drakengard 2 and is the creator of the Nier franchise.The story of Nier replicant 1.22 is a well-thought-out story, but with lacking background in the game.
